A MESSAGE FROM PASTOR KATHLEEN
Dear Ones in Christ,
Blessings to you and those that bring light and love into your life!
Recently over the course of three days, my attention has been continually drawn to the Holy Spirit, her call to prayer, and attention to her movement in the world around us. A dear colleague and I had lunch, and she shared with me her congregation’s focus for the coming year to be one of prayer and worship. In the time that we continued to be present to one another, I felt another tug in the direction of seeking God’s presence through prayer. I had spent the previous couple of weeks looking over possibilities for studying the Book of Acts for our Thursday night Bible Study. As I prepared for our first gathering, I saw that God was again gently guiding my attention to the Holy Spirit – which is one of the themes of Luke’s writing about God’s people coming together after Christ ascended.
God’s people at St. Tim’s will be meeting together at the end of February to take a look back over the past year of serving God and tending to our journey of sharing the Good News around us and for us, and then setting a course for the journey forward. In this time, along with the shifts in leadership of our Country and the rising tension in our communities, I see a strong call to prayer and seeking out of how we live and move in the world AND how we can lend a hand to others to do that very same thing. Dear Ones, through it all, we need to remember that we are all part of the community of Christ here at St. Timothy’s. My prayer is that, even though our physical vision sees the concrete in front of us most of the time, our humanity will see with the eyes of Christ and the Holy Spirit to see the needs of our neighbors (in and out of the building). We call upon God in prayer to lead us in a way forward that will strengthen our faith and our community to serve the needs of both body and soul for all whom we encounter.
Holy, Gracious, and Everlasting God, send the Holy Spirit to ease the tensions rising around us and help us to be for others and for ourselves a healing balm in those moments that threaten to overwhelm us. In Jesus’ Name, we pray. Amen. Peace, Pastor

HAPPENINGS AT ST. TIM’S
HOPE’S TABLE
An inch of snow kept attendance down at our January 9th Hope’s Table—14 guests--but not the spirits of the volunteers (seven hardy folks).

Guests and volunteers alike agreed that “All’s well that ends well” with cookies! Join us on Saturday, February 8, for a special “Valentine’s Day Lunch,” 11 am to 1 pm.
WHAT ARE THESE PEOPLE UP TO?
ANSWER ON THE NEXT PAGE.

ANSWER: THEY ARE “MISSION MAKERS”
Our Saturday, January 25, Mission Makers was truly intergenerational. Attendees ranged in age from two to seventy-plus. While the children enjoyed making a craft and hearing a story from Pastor Kathleen, the older folks finished putting together 106 meals for Caring for Friends.

A full van of meals, heading to the Caring for Friends warehouse.

*****The next Mission Makers is Saturday, February 22, from 3:30 to 5 pm, for a showing of Inside Out. Yes, there will be popcorn.*****
PRESCHOOL NEWS
Our little scholars found themselves rolling in the dough during the last week of January as both the 3s and Pre-K classes took separate field trips to make pizzas at nearby Joseph’s Pizzeria. School will be closed on Valentine’s Day so the children (and teachers?) can enjoy a 4-day Presidents’ Day weekend. They will celebrate “Heart Day” early with a party and card exchange on Wednesday, February 12.
Registration for 25/26 is going well, with the 3s class almost full, and school tours beginning in early February for the limited number of open slots in the Pre-K class.
