Vicar Kyle Schiefelbein-Guerrero
St. Timothy Lutheran Church has recently welcomed Dr. Kyle Schiefelbein-Guerrero to serve as our Vicar through September 30, 2023. He is currently the Steck-Miller Assistant Professor of Worship and Liturgy at the United Lutheran Seminary (ULS).
About Vicar Kyle
Vicar Kyle brings a unique combination of learning and experience to his pastoral work with us. A graduate of the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities and Luther Seminary (St. Paul, MN), he earned his Ph.D. in Liturgical Studies and Systematic Theology from Graduate Theological Union (Berkeley, CA). Before joining the ULS faculty, he taught at seminaries in Berkeley and was an active member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in San Francisco. His academic interests include digital worship, the intersection of liturgy and pastoral care, and theological formation.
During his time at St. Timothy, Vicar Kyle continues to develop his pastoral identity and is looking forward to exploring with the congregation what post-pandemic ministry looks like. He is also excited to find ways of integrating his passion for theology and liturgy into the everyday work of the congregation.
Vicar Kyle is married to his spouse, Rommel, and enjoys hanging out with friends, visiting museums and parks, and watching TV.
